However, it is not good because we have a lot to study and not enough time. It means we have to study hard, fast, and under a lot of pressure. We can finish the course, but if you want to relax and study with less pressure, then between 1 and 2 years before your tests is a good time to start.

Mr. Colin: Thailand does not have enough flight instructors, so the prospects for flight instructors with experience are very good. Thai people have a lot more respect for foreign instructors. Big Cheese: My mathematics and physics aren't very good because I graduated with a Law degree. My English isn't very good too. Can you teach me English and all of the pilot tests? Please advise me on what course I should take with you.
Mr. Colin: No problem! Every test and every interview is in English, so it is very very important you practise your English. Siampilot is the only school to teach about all of the tests and interviews in English. It is the best way to practise your English, and prepare for the tests and interviews. We will practise your mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, science, and aviation skills at the same time. Don't worry! We understand Thai and we speak English very very slowly!
Natthasit: If I pay to study at the flying school (CATC or BAC) and I get my CPL, will I have a better chance of passing?
Mr. Colin: A very popular question! The answer is yes, but it is risky! It is VERY expensive to pay to study yourself and does NOT guarantee you can get a job. However, every airline in Thailand is looking for ways to get & train pilots cheaply, so qualified pilots have a better chance of passing. The other main point you need to consider is that it is not enough to have only your CPL. Airlines need experience. We recommend you continue to fly and that you have at least 300 flying hours before you apply to the airlines. This will help you a lot. If you have friends that can study with you, it is possible you can get a discount from the flying schools. The age limit for TG qualified pilot is 42, so you have time to save your money and learn to fly. Siampilot has many many qualified pilots who come to study for many different airlines that advertise at different times of the year.

Mr. Colin: TG do NOT accept foreign pilots. However, because you fly the 737, you may have a chance of applying to Thai Air Asia or even Nok Air. The first step for you is to convert your licence to Thai CPL. The Department of Aviation on Sathorn Road can advise you on this. If you need help about the tests to convert your licence, you have contacted the right people. We can help you to practise all of the conversion tests beforehand. If you prepare well, the conversion tests are not a problem. If you don't prepare and you fail, you must wait six months to tests again.
Jab: I have an interview for the Etihad Cadet Pilot Program. I don't know how I can prepare myself. I know nothing about aviation until now and I have only one month. I don't live in Thailand. Can you help me?

Suthichai: I want to apply for Bangkok Airways pilot. When should I start your course?
Mr. Colin: Now! Pilot is one of the most difficult jobs in the world. Start now! It will give us more time to help you.
VP: Is it possible to fail the Pilot Selection Program first time, but pass the second time?
Mr. Colin: That is a very difficult question. If you fail one time, it is very difficult to pass the second time, but not impossible! (We have students who passed the second time!) First, you must ask yourself why you didn’t pass the first time. Do you understand what you did wrong? What did the professor focus on? What subject did the professor ask about again and again? If you think you did nothing wrong, then it is possible your mistake was about your body language. Ask your friend to interview you. Ask him to tell you honestly what he thinks about your body language (confident, sincere, in control, positive, serious, friendly, …). If he thinks your body language is negative, you need to exactly understand what your problem is. After that, you need a long time (1-2 years) to focus on your problem and to try to improve it. Do not test again until you are sure you have improved your negative points. However, if you cannot improve them, do not test again. The result will be the same.
Chakrit: My Bachelor's Degree is Business Administration. Is it true that Thai Airways prefer graduates with computer or engineering degrees?
Mr. Colin: Good question! A computer or engineering degree can help to show you are serious to be a pilot, but many other degrees are useful for pilot too. Focus on what you know and think about how this can help you to be a pilot.
Samarth: I decided a short time ago to apply for pilot. Do you have any short courses we can study?
Mr. Colin: If we study quickly, we can finish the most important things, but we cannot finish. Pilot is one of the most difficult jobs in the world. If you prepare not well, your chance to pass is not good. Another choice is to cancel your application this year, come and study well, and test again next year. We can help you sure, but it is your choice.

Tawatchai: Your psychology puzzles are very interesting, but I'm not clear about the objective.
Mr. Colin: The objective of the Psychology Puzzles is to train you to think another way, not only the direct way. If you close your mind, you will think the answers for the Psychology Puzzles are just crazy, but if you try to open your mind, you will start to understand that many crazy indirect ideas can actually be very good answers. Practise!!! The basic technique is to choose the opposite answer, but you must have reason!!!

Mr. Colin: You are doing everything you can to help him already. The most important thing is that he must want to be a pilot himself. If family pressure children into doing something, usually they do it not to the best of their ability. He must be motivated to be a pilot, otherwise he will fail the tests. Get him interested in flying; take him to the airport, organise an observation flight at one of the flying schools, learn more about flying, ... The Siampilot website is a good starting place.

If you want to study, OK, we can help you, but your chance to pass is not good. A good pilot is a good planner. It is better you plan well, and find enough time to come and study with Siampilot.

If you have only a limited time to study, we can increase the length of each class or give you TWO classes in one day. Don't worry! We will give you a break between the classes! If you are serious to be a pilot, Siampilot will do our best to help you to get your dream.
